The REVERSARU 'Syncro Kit' bolts to the Subaru 5MT centre differential housing and enables the Subaru 5 speed manual transmission to marry up to your standard / genuine T3 Syncro tail shaft and front differential. 

The 'Syncro kit' must be used in conjunction with the RGB's. the RGB's are included in the price of this listing.  

The RGB's reverse the drive and the Subaru transmission and the  'Syncro Kit' keeps the Subaru transmission AWD output and connects to the Syncro front running gear. 

The gearing within the RGB's is compatible with your (4.86:1 ratio) Syncro front differential. 

The REVERSARU Syncro kit will work with both the Dual Range and the non Dual Range Subaru 5 speed manual transmissions. The dual range is a GREAT option for Syncro's as it has both High and Low range options. There is a full set of 5 gears in 'Low' range and a full set of 5 gears in 'High' or 'normal' range. 

In the Dual Range transmission, the low range is typically a 1.45 reduction, so it is great for off-road driving! You may lose your Low / G gear but you gain a whole full range of 5x Low gears and have a 5th gear for the highway! A worthy trade-off in my opinion.   

The Dual Range transmissions are readily available in Australia, Japan and throughout Europe but were not delivered in USA. If you are in USA and are interested in a Dual Range 5MT please reach out as we work along side a select few workshops in the USA and plan to deliver Dual Range 5MT's to their workshops to have stock on hand. 

Please note that there are many Syncro's driving around with the standard (non dual range) Subaru 5MT transmissions, so don't be too bummed if you cant find or cant afford the dual range. The Non Dual range 5MT is still a great upgrade!   

After the RGB's (reduction gear boxes) have been bolted to the the side of the Subaru 5MT to reverse the drive of the transmission, all you need to do is simply remove the rear extension housing from the 5MT and install the Reversaru 'Syncro kit' which then drives the front Syncro differential. 

The kit is super easy to install and is 'novice friendly'.

This kit retains the AWD output of the Subaru 5MT transmission, and spins the output shaft in the correct rotation in order to marry up to your tail shaft and your Syncro front Diff perfectly. 

The ratio of the Reduction gearboxes (RGB's) in this listing takes a 4.11 final drive to 4.89 so be sure to purchase a Subaru 5MT with a 4.11 final drive ratio.

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

  • The best transmission to use is the FEMALE type transmission with male CV joints. Please see video in this listing for more information. 
  • This kit suits T3 Syncro with 4.86:1 final drive ratio.
  • The gears in the RGB's of this kit are 1.19 reduction and take a 4.11 ratio to 4.89.     
  • So, when looking for a Subaru 5 speed manual transmission for your Syncro, make sure it is a 4.11:1 final drive.
  • You will need to remove the viscous coupling from your Syncro front diff and install a solid shaft instead (solid shaft can be purchased from Van Cafe or Go Westy).  
  • Although the target vehicle’s ratio is 4.86, the slight 0.03 difference is extremely minimal and negligible. The centre differential in the Subaru transmission will automatically compensate for that minor discrepancy.
  • After driving and testing this system on a Syncro with a 4.86 final drive ratio, there has been zero issues with such a small difference in ratios (final drive of 4.89 from the RGB's and final drive of 4.86 from the front Syncro diff). The difference is extremely minimal and has not been an issue whatsoever.
